Subject: Important Update: Rad Power Battery Recall & Our E-Bike Service Policy

Hi everyone,

At Olympia Cycle & Ski, your safety and peace of mind are our top priorities. With the recent Rad Power Bikes battery recall circulating in the news, we wanted to reach out to clarify our response and keep you fully informed.

About the Rad Power Battery Recall

Rad Power Bikes has issued a recall for specific older battery models.

To be fully compliant with CEBA (Canadian Electrical Bicycle Association) guidelines—and out of an abundance of caution—we will no longer accept the affected Rad batteries in our store or service department.

We want to reassure you:
- We have never sold any bikes equipped with the recalled batteries.
- And based on all current information, these units remain safe when handled properly. However, compliance and customer protection require that we follow CEBA protocols strictly.

Recalls serve as a reminder that choosing a well-established, legacy bicycle brand offers real long-term advantages:

  • more consistent parts availability

  • stable product lines

  • and dedicated after-sales service

You deserve e-bikes that can be maintained for years to come—without uncertainty.

Important Service Policy Update (Effective October 2025)

Beginning October 1, 2025, our service department will shift to a brand-supported model.
This means:

     - We will continue to fully support e-bike brands we currently sell: Giant, Marin, Salsa, Cannondale, Surly, Envo, and Rad Power Bikes.

     - We will also continue to assist—to the best of our ability—with e-bikes from brands we have sold in the past.

     - We will no longer be able to service e-bikes from brands we do not sell.
            This allows us to maintain higher quality, faster turnaround times, and better safety standards for all customers.
